Got some more PS1 games over the weekend from family2dyl, so they’ve been added to the database now, also got some Game boy and Game boy Color games.
Need to add the Philips CD-i’s I’ve got, but I’ll save that for a bigger post once I’ve tested the stuff out! Got a massive gaming lot the other week, but have to do some other stuff before then!
Saturday was pretty raintastic, so I met up with Lee at Lib Station and messed around for a while before meeting up with Kerry.
Kerry is a pain in the arse who fails to be able to pick somewhere to eat which in turn means that we all have to wait before we can eat while she goes from place to place not wanting to actually eat there. No one likes a vegetarian.
All the walking took it’s toll on Lee
That’s one angry smoking chav in the background there.
While we were waiting in BHS Andrew finally turned up after trying to pay the bus driver with his bag of 2ps only to be told to do one.
We went off to Stefano’s to check out what he was up to and if he wanted to join us on his antics, we ended up just sitting around eating our Spar Meal Deals and watching him play Killzone 3 in 3D, which was pretty epic.
We left off in our quest to get a camera for eSports recording at the events and other related eSports stuff, on the way we passed charity shops, so I urged we had to go in to check out cheap retro games (something I’d suckered into since we ran the retro event in January). By the door of the hospice shop I saw this! £25! I wanted!
We went to the cash point because we needed cash for it, Cormac was walking down towards the cash point so he ended up with us as well. We went back to the charity shop and collected it, headed straight back to Stefano’s!
Unrolled it, comfy as hell! Turns out it had all kinds of wires as well for sound, speakers and a sub built into the mat! However the power for it was on a European socket, we didn’t have a converter… Then it clicked, we still don’t have the camera! So we headed back out!
Got towards the other end of town, Ashley tried to distract us by telling us to cut off the end of the plug and stuff, but we powered on to Fotosound!
Asked the guy what the best camera in there was, he didn’t really seem to know, so we figured on the Sony HDR-CX305E, while he went away to find us a battery to test it, I googled it on my phone and found out the specs and some review run downs, said it worked well in low light etc etc, which is what we needed.
We tested it by throwing my phone in a small corner and then getting it to focus on my shoe, then the phone screen, worked well enough so we took it!
With our new toy, we headed once again back to Stefano’s, plugged it in and did some testing, below is the video we recorded
We also managed to test the gaming mat with our new converter plug we picked up from Boots on the back, VERY POWERFUL sub on it, it basically punches the back of your neck, very surreal.
Andrew headed off to work the night and we all left to go shoot some lasers n shit at Jersey Bowl.
I wont mention the issues with the laser part, but Marco did manage to own him self when his feet left the ground while still holding the bowling ball and falling down very quickly afterwards to the floor while attempting to bowl.
After bowling we headed back into town in a 3 or 4 way split of people. I ended up back at Stefs, but I hear that Lee, Cormac and Verity ended up on the bus with a Frenchman, he had a mohawk and managed to get his dick out, only to have it sucked by a fat woman wearing pink (unrelated parties on the bus). When I called it was loud, shortly after I hear someone announced they were English and started a fight with him on the bus (the Frenchman, not Lee).
Most of us ended up back at Stefs after that and we played with the gaming mat, Jake shat his pants because we hadn’t told him how powerful the speaker was, we dropped it on some Deadspace 2 music, bricks were shat.
Played some Killzone 3, some Monkey Kick Off and Rock Band. While messing around on YouTube Stef was lying down on the mat, Cormac fired up Brain Drill. Stefano jumped about 2 feet off the ground when it played.
Friday started with getting trapped in my flat. I was about to head out for work when I heard a bunch of people (about 3 voices) outside my flat door, which is weird because everyone who’s ever been to my flat knows that I am on the top floor, so if there is someone there, it’s to come to my flat.
They were all talking a foreign language as well, so I didn’t have a clue what was going on and shat it. Turns out, as I opened my door, I was barricaded in with cleaning products. They moved the stuff and I got out, took a picture of the cleaning company for good evidence.
I got to work to find an upside down celebrations plastic tub on my desk at work, had no idea, I asked if it was a puppy after I’d played the bongos on it for a while. Turns out Julia (who sits opposite me on a Friday at work) had made a BANOFFEE PIE for me after an email earlier that week!
Needless to say, it’s delicious! And yes, there was also a pot of cream!
Lunchtime rolled around and I called Lee to see if he was cool to go do some luncheon, I walked towards his work and waited for him just outside. I stood next to a cafe just opposite where the lifts were, so I could see him when he came down them. He caught sight of me first and started to show the Vs along with Sin_Chase and clearly I did the same back, sadly for them, the people in the cafe had no idea I was there, so to them, two random guys in a lift were out to ruin their lunch.
Lee and I went off to collect Stefano and then headed down to our local. We didn’t get as much as the day before, but I did get Stefano the happy meal I promised him, he got a toy light saber, it didn’t work, he was upset, I forced it upside down into his small coke.
We then went on a quest to find some cupcakes, as the current reward for staying up the whole eSport event is a cupcake, but we didn’t know where you could get any.
We found some in the cafe in the middle, so we figured (on offical eSports business) we should test them!
Tri-force of Cupcakes!
He was happy (until he tried it)
We all ate ours, other than Stef, who managed to take a bite (and in the process cover his face in the blue glitter that was covering the cake before hand) and then take a disliking to it.
I clearly ate 2 cakes at that point.
BED TESTING TIME!
I went out to get a new mattress for home because I have a king size bed frame but only a double size mattress, so we went to Scope (as it was close, and turns out homemaker isn’t there anymore) and we just, lay around on beds.
I asked the sales guy there “if I pay for delivery, and your guys can’t get it into my flat, I don’t have to pay?” he said “If they can’t get it into your flat, you’re stuck with it”. No sale for me! So then he said “But we do have one downstairs that’s been discounted to £1,000 if you want to try that, “if I can’t get that in I still have to buy it?” “yes” “no thanks….”
Later that night, I purchased one from homemaker in the Grand Marche for less than half the price, free delivery, if they can’t get it in my flat, they take it back, I get a refund. Sorted.
Went to see I Am Number Four at CineWorld on Friday night, stupidly bad script, really good cinematics.
